High Conflict Divorce and Parenting

I’ve been there.

I wish someone had told me what it really meant to be in a “High Conflict Divorce.”

I wish I’d had someone who truly understood the effect it was having on me, and why.

Your therapist, while wonderful, isn’t an expert on the Family Court system, and might not even be well-versed in the sometimes maddening effects of going through a toxic divorce

And your attorney—I hope you have one, but I can help if you don’t—doesn’t have time to guide you through the minutia of strategizing while balancing the emotional roller coaster.

I am here to bridge that gap.

High Conflict Divorce Coaching

You’ve been in a toxic relationship and are getting out of it, or trying to.

A High Conflict Divorce Coach is especially important when there are children involved.

I’ve trained in the top HCDC program available, created and instructed by Tina Swithin of One Mom’s Battle.

When it seems like no one you’re talking to really gets what it’s like, a divorce coach who does is a life-saver.

And it can be the difference between your most ideal custody vision and your least.

Parenting during a High Conflict Divorce

Children of parents who are in a HCD are experiencing trauma in real time and it is so easy to lose their trust.

They need the most intentional parenting, which feels impossible with everything that’s happening.

I can help you maintain (or regain) a positive parental relationship with you children.

Partners of someone in a HCD

I hear from so many folks about the challenges of being in a relationship with a person who is in the midst of a HCD—my partner was the first to tell me how hard it was.

The conflict, questioning whether this is all worth it, figuring out what your role is with the kids, how to support your partner.

I can help.

About me

Life has taken me on the most beautiful series of perfect storms in my adulthood. I can say that now, looking back!

I had my first child in 2004, became a birth doula in 2005, had my second child in 2007, then separated from my “high school sweetheart,” in 2010. The last 20+ years have been filled with parenting and doula-ing, most of it as a single momma.

I help people do hard things, things that can feel impossible at times.

Just as I was inspired to become a doula after giving birth, I was inspired to be a divorce coach once I was done parenting children through a high conflict divorce.

Just as I wanted to help people protect their experience of becoming parents, I now seek to help parents protect their relationships with their children throughout divorce, from their daily interactions to those stressful days in court.

I’ve often joked with doula clients that my goal is to help birth not suck. Do I do the same for divorce? It’s up for debate whether that’s possible all the time.

Some divorces are just going to royally suck.

But there’s so much that can be done to help it be better, and it’s the hugest relief to have someone by your side who has the tools to help with everything from managing the stress, sadness and anger, to strategizing for court.

And I truly believe it all makes us stronger and more amazing.
